Who is Marie-Louise ? She was a great-grandmother of the Bodillard family. Parts of the winery have been passed down through her family.
DESIGNATION : A.O.C. Morgon WINE NAME :Cuvée Marie-Louise EXPOSURE : South, Southwest VINES : Aged vines, 50 to 90 years old, cultivated mainly by hand due to the steep slopes. The vines are trimmed in goblet form and plowed between the vines. In order to best respect the environment, treatment is minimal depending on the yearly conditions. WINEMAKING PROCESS : Manually harvested, with a long carbonic maceration of about 21 days. At the end of fermentation, the wine is put into oak casks for a period of 9 to 12 months. The newest casks have been used 3 times and the oldest 9 times. All the casks are French oak. During this winemaking process, no additives are introduced into the wine. BOTTLING : The wine is filtered and bottled and labeled by our enterprise. The wine is bottled-aged for 12 months. This wine is only available 2 years after harvest. TASTING AND CONSUMPTION : To be served at about 14°C (45°F) with red meat, game, and cheese. This is a wine to be consumed with passion ! WINE-MAKER ADVICE : This wine marries the rich aromas of red fruits with those of the light, vanilla flavor of the oak. The color is deep red with the scent is of ripe cherries and a silky smoothness in the mouth. The is the emblematic wine of the Bodillard estate. AGEING POTENTIAL : 15 years ALCOHOL CONTENT : 13 % by volume |
