HISTORY : L'Auguste was Marie-Louise's husband.
This wine, like this exceptional person, is strong and generous. DESIGNATION : A.O.C. Morgon WINE NAME : Cuvée L’Auguste EXPOSURE : South, Southwest VINES : Two parcels of 100-year-old vines produce this special wine. One parcel was planted in 1902 and the other in 1908. The vines are trimmed in goblet form and plowed between the vines. In order to best respect the environment, treatment is minimal depending on the yearly conditions. WINEMAKING PROCESS : Manually harvested, with a very long carbonic maceration in oak barrels. In 2011, the maceration was for 41 days. This means that the entire bunches of grapes are put into the barrels. After pressing, the wine is again placed in oak barrels, which have been used 4-5 times, for a period of 9-10 months. During this winemaking process, no additives are introduced into the wine. This is a completely natural wine. BOTTLING : The wine is filtered and bottled and labeled by our enterprise. The bottle selected for this wine is heavy and dark making it an excellent choice to conserve the wine. Each of the only 2,000 bottles made is numbered. TASTING AND CONSUMPTION : To be served at about 14°C (45°F) and to be consumed at special events with true wine lovers. WINE-MAKER ADVICE : The age of the vines, the winemaking method, and the ageing make this an exceptional wine. No other wine is like L'Auguste. It is just incredible ! AGEING POTENTIAL : 20 years ALCOHOL CONTENT : 13,5 % by volume |
